The core purpose of IWSC is to fight women’s surbordination, specifically gender-based violence as well as HIV and AIDS pandemic. This is done through awareness raising workshops and campaigns, advice and information, lobbying and advocacy for policy change and implementation, training and capacity building in relevant skills.
Ikhwezi Women’s group are rural poor women specifically those on commercial farms, in and out of school youth and children.
Ikhwezi is committed to educating and empowering men, women and children of the greater Cathcart region on issues of Gender Based Violence, Human Rights, as well as HIV and AIDS related issues. Ikhwezi strives to develop the greater Cathcart community to enable it to participate in the development of its own community structures and in the implementation of sustainable programme in order to increase their income levels, without being hindered by gender based violence, abuse of human rights and HIV and AIDS.

Meet Our Founder
Meet Eunice Linda Brukwe, the visionary leader behind Ikhwezi Women Support Centre, a non-governmental organization dedicated to empowering women and communities in the Amahlathi local Municipality, specifically in the disadvantaged town of Cathcart in the Eastern Cape. Linda embodies resilience, empathy, and a profound belief in the potential of every individual to create positive change. Her leadership has not only transformed the lives of countless women and families but has also inspired a movement towards a more inclusive and equitable society.
Driven by a deep sense of compassion and commitment to social justice, Linda Brukwe established Ikhwezi Women Support Centre to address critical human rights issues, with a focus on Gender-Based Violence within family households. Her unwavering dedication to creating safer spaces for women and advocating for their rights has been the cornerstone of the organisation's mission.
In addition to combating Gender-Based Violence, Ikhwezi Women Support Centre plays a vital role in reducing the measures of HIV/AIDS-related issues, implementing poverty alleviation initiatives, and spearheading youth development programs. Through innovative strategies and community engagement, Linda and her team have made significant strides in promoting gender equality, improving health outcomes, and fostering socio-economic empowerment.
